Red and White Christmas Living Room Tour

Happy Holidays! I love love LOVE this time of year! If you are coming from CC and Mike’s Home for the Holidays tour, Welcome! If you haven’t viewed her tour yet, be sure you check it out! Carissa is so talented and she is a fellow Oklahoman too!

Christmas is by far my favorite holiday and it’s the most fun to decorate! Have you already completed your shopping for this year?! If you need some last-minute gift ideas, I posted several helpful gift guides for men, kids, your sister or BFF, practical gifts for women and more to come! Another BIG question: have you decorated for Christmas yet?! Like I said before I love holiday decorating…Seeing the glitter, reindeer’s, ornaments, etc. always put me in a good mood and reminds me of what Christmas is all about.Red and White Christmas Living Room Tour

Today I am going to share my Red and White Christmas Living Room tour with the help of Hayneedle! If you’ve been reading my blog for a few years, you will notice a difference in my holiday décor from the last 2 years compared to this year. In the past, I used very neutral colors to give off an understated, yet chic holiday vibe. Click here to see my Christmas Kitchen Tour from this year. While I always love holiday glam, I wanted a more traditional and festive living room to bring in even more Christmas joy this holiday season! Think a giant Santa figurine, antique toy trucks, and lots of red and white! My husband and 3 children COULD NOT be happier with how it all turned out!  And you know what, I still got that holiday elegance that I always crave.

Hayneedle is a true Christmas and year-round blessing! They have an AMAZING inventory that varies from holiday, furniture, lighting and lots of home decor accessories. Another big win for me is that they have inspiration pictures that have given me great ideas on how to decorate a few rooms in my home!  This year Hayneedle featured a “I wish for…” holiday campaign. What do you wish for this holiday season? I wish to soak up as much family time as possible during this holiday season and to remind myself to be grateful! And most importantly, remind our children the true meaning of Christmas. It is so easy to get caught up in all the gifts to buy and things to do, that you lose the meaning of the season and forget to count your blessings.

Last year, we “adopted” a single mother and her 3 children that we heard could use some help and went to their home to bring them lots of holiday goodies and gifts. Our kids said that was their most favorite part of Christmas. It was so special to help someone in need and involve our children… it really was a memorable and special night for everyone in our family.

Ready to begin the red and white Christmas living room tour? Me too…let’s get started!

One of the very first Hayneedle pieces I chose was the adorable and jolly 36″ Santa Claus that I placed on my cast stone hearth. He is holding a”Nice” list in his hands with lots of names written on it and once I had decorated, my kids ran in from school and asked why their names were not on his list! Haha! Sweet kids. 2 of our children still believe in Santa’s magic and so he really is the perfect touch to my hearth holiday decor along with the vintage truck that Vivian (our 4-year-old) just loves to play with. Since Santa was one of the first (and largest) decorative pieces I chose, I went a bit more understated with the rest of the decor. On top of my mantle for my festive red and white Christmas living room, I used a gorgeous flocked pre-lit 9ft garland that has red, silver and white ornaments placed throughout. It also has some rustic pine cones for some natural texture. It has a great fullness and I love that I can use it for many more seasons after this.  I then placed 6 mercury glass trees in varying sizes mixed in with the garland. They are adorable and add just the right amount of shine to the mantle.  I did keep my stockings neutral this year. I chose cream-colored stockings with a fur lining at the top.  To me, they are the perfect classic look with a pop of fur fabulousness and can go with any type of holiday decor for years to come. They are also on major sale for an unbelievable price!Red and White Christmas Living Room Tour featuring flocked wreath from HayneedleRed and White Christmas Living Room Tour

I hung coordinating flocked wreaths on my windows directly next to my mantle. Tip: I love command hooks and use them often when decorating. I placed a command hook on each of my windows and let it set all night before hanging the wreaths. The wreaths along with my white linen drapes (very similar linked) look soooo holiday gorgeous to me, I absolutely love how it turned out. The best part is when I am driving into our property (we live on almost 8 acres) and I can see the wreaths from the driveway.  Opposite of the Santa, I placed a few pillows on the hearth for some coziness and color. The final touch for the mantle decor ended up being one of my MOST favorite things…the vintage looking decorative ski’s that I rested against the mantle! How cute are they?! I will use these for years to come, they are so precious with all of the detailing and you can even hang them as wall decor too.Red and White Christmas Living Room Tour

You all know I love to stay cozy all the time: pillows and throws help every home achieve that feeling where you just want to curl up on the sofa with a hot cup of coffee.  As stated before, I’m all for Christmas but I love being able to reuse items through winter after the holidays are over (and glitter is left for months).  I chose 22″ cream cable knit pillows that I will leave out for the rest of winter. They are so nice and are filled with down which makes them seem custom to me. When the seasons change, I think it’s a great idea to change out pillows and throws accordingly. To add in more pillow combinations,  I chose lots of other cozy holiday pillows from Hayneedle…the red cableknit, , the subtle red and white striped pillows and finally, I mixed in a few of my own neutral pillows as well.Red and White Christmas Living Room TourRed and White Christmas Living Room Tour

The Absolute Coziest Item from Hayneedle are the 2 cream faux fur throws I laid out on my couches. They feel like HEAVEN! Get them now and never look back. The size of these throws is perfect to drape along a sofa just like I did. And their furry texture against the dark leather fabric look so cozy chic. WARNING: Sitting on the couch with these throws can be very dangerous because once you’re there, all you’ll want to do is cuddle up and relax all day! That is exactly my plan over Christmas break! Last weekend, we were fortunate enough to gather as a family and watch Elf  (my favorite Christmas movie). It was such a wonderful family night with all of us cozied up in the living room…we made homemade popcorn and hot cocoa. With all of the Christmas decorations and coziness, it was just perfection!Red and White Christmas Living Room TourRed and White Christmas Living Room TourRed and White Christmas Living Room TourRed and White Christmas Living Room TourRed and White Christmas Living Room Tour

When we decorate for the holidays, we have to rearrange some of the furniture and take down some of the living room wall decor. We moved the console table to the back of the sofa where it frames our gallery wall perfectly! I placed 2 3.5 ft. flocked trees there for some height and an adorable white snowy cottage that plays music too. The brass candle sticks complete the look. Then I moved my banquette bench and cowhide rug over next to the console table. Our main christmas tree sits across the room where the bench normally sits, but I will reveal my living room tree in another post coming soon! Subscribe here so you don’t miss that.  I added the peace and joy pillows on my banquette (how cute are they?), the adorable Christmas tree pillow, and 2 more of the cream cableknit pillows.  The same flocked garland that is on my mantle, I draped along the top of the banquette. It added so much to this little vignette and really complements and mirrors the mantle decor, don’t you agree? I still felt like I was missing something so I decided to add a few silver and gold bells! The bells were so cute on my side table and on the floor near our bench! Of course, Vivian loved the little vintage truck…I casually placed it under the end table.

Speaking of side table, did you notice my new end table?! I recently got the cutest marble and brass side table that I am loving…from Hayneedle! My color scheme is generally leaning towards the light and bright side of the color palette, so I love that the marble look goes great for Christmas and year-round! To complete this styled space, I added a creamy beige cableknit pouf on the floor. Poufs are the perfect accessory to add in any room of your home. I think we have them in almost all of the rooms at our house!Red and White Christmas Living Room Tour

Hi! Yes we love seagrass and have it all over the house, but it’s not soft at all. It has held up well and can be vacuumed. Love the look though.
